The Group Insurance is administered by a Board of Trustees representing the Alberta Sheet Metal Workers’ Health and Welfare Plan and employers participating in the Plan. Coughlin & Associates is a full-service benefits consultant and third-party administrator. Please find additional insurance coverage documents below.

The Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace was developed through a consultation process approved by the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) and Energy Safety Canada, which brought together volunteers representing varied viewpoints and interests to achieve a reasonable consensus in developing a general guideline for industry use.

  Rapid Site Access Program

RASP is a program developed by union, contractor, and owner stakeholders to maintain a safe, drug-free workplace. As a labourer, registering for RSAP helps you avoid repeated testing on your own time and speeds up the dispatch process, allowing you to get to work faster.

People Connect is a mental health resource center which allows eligible members and their families access to mental health information, support and affordable therapy. Combined with the CEFAP program, you should be able to find assistance with handling most of life's stressful situations.

  Counselling Services

For over 20 years, the Construction Employee and Family Assistance Program (CEFAP) has been offering assitance to our members with counselling for issues such as addictions, family & relationship problems, depression, job stress, anger management and many more.
